I have been fortunate to have been involved in the design, construction review, and verification of buildings and solar photovoltaic systems since 2004. Over this time I have concentrated on building enclosure design, energy performance, and the design and commissioning of solar photovoltaic systems. I enjoy taking conceptual ideas and moving them through detailed design, overseeing their implementation on the job site, and verifying established targets are met when the project reaches completion. Through this process, I have acquired experience using a variety of building energy, life cycle assessment and enclosure analysis software and measured and documented various building performance metrics including energy performance, water use and the environmental impacts of materials and construction practices. I have had the opportunity to work with a variety of building analysis equipment including blower doors, infrared cameras, moisture meters, data logging equipment, various types of temperature and flow measurement devices and electrical measurement tools. I also have experience reviewing and providing recommendations for building enclosure designs with respect to durability, energy efficiency and air tightness. My latest area of focus has been helping Owner's, designers, and contractors with their Passive House and net-zero energy projects.
